Work with me
I make short, honest videos about comics for people who actually read them, and I buy collections across the UK. If you publish comics, sell them, or want to reach the people who love them, this is where we start.
I have read comics my whole life and collected them for most of it, and for me the two have never come apart. Collecting is nostalgia you can hold: the issue you had as a kid, the one you could never find, the smell of a longbox. That feeling runs through everything I make. Retro Relics Comics started as a way to pay for the habit, buying collections and passing the good books on, and it is still a one-man operation.
What I will not make is the content you have already seen a hundred times. No top ten recommendations, no lists of what is hot. I go looking for the hidden meaning in a comic, the thing a story is quietly about, or the fact nobody told you, and I say it with some humour and a bit of myself in it. Swamp Thing comes up more than is reasonable. So do grief, memory, the way a page is built, and the odd thing from my own life that a comic happened to say better than I could.
That is why the audience is what it is: readers first, people who want someone to take a comic seriously and still be good company about it. They trust the opinions because the opinions are mine, and that is the only thing on this page worth buying.
Instagram, October 2026. Most of those views come from people who do not follow me yet, which is the point: the videos travel. The same pieces run on TikTok and YouTube. Current figures and audience breakdown on request.
One comic, one idea, under a minute or well over it. The format people know me for.
Plot, art, narrative, emotion and what stays with you. Honest, specific, never a summary.
Where to start and why, for people who have never picked up the book.
A free monthly comic club that reads one book and talks about it, plus a long-form course on Swamp Thing and Gothic horror, free to read.
A dedicated piece or a natural mention inside one, in my voice, labelled as paid. Rates depend on scope; ask.
Send the book. If it is good I will say so and why; if it is not, I will say that too, or say nothing.
Happy to talk comics anywhere people will listen, on a stage or a microphone, with a strong view on Swamp Thing.
Valuing and buying comic collections for families, shops and solicitors across the UK. Fair offers, same-day payment.
Undisclosed advertising, and anything I would not read myself. Every paid piece is marked as such.
Tell me the idea and the timing. I will say yes, no, or what I would do instead, usually within a day or two.
