Bucky Barnes first appeared in Captain America Comics #1, published by Marvel in 1941. That places it in the Gold Age.
Why this issue matters
Cap's teenage sidekick, killed off in 1945 and left dead for sixty years, which made his eventual return as the Winter Soldier one of the genuine shocks of modern Marvel.
Captain America Comics #1 is also the first appearance of Captain America, Red Skull, which is part of why the book carries the weight it does.
