Sell your comics
in York.

Get a fair, honest valuation from Lee, a lifelong collector based up the A19 on Teesside, which makes York one of the easiest trips on my map. I buy Marvel, DC, vintage and modern collections across York and North Yorkshire, with free collection, and in a city that has been trading treasures for the best part of two thousand years, comics feel right at home.

We buy comic collections in York

Whether you are inside the city walls, out in Acomb, Fulford, Heworth, Clifton or anywhere across North Yorkshire, selling your comics to me works the same way and costs you nothing. Send a few photos, get an honest offer based on real current prices, and because York is barely an hour from my base, collection usually means me at your door rather than a courier.

The York face every comic fan knows

Here is a piece of comics history hiding in plain sight: the most famous face in comics belongs to a York man. Guy Fawkes was born in this city in 1570, and when the artist David Lloyd needed a face for the masked anarchist in Alan Moore's V for Vendetta, he reached for Fawkes. That stylised grin went from a graphic novel to cinema screens to protests around the world, and it started with a Yorkshireman from these streets. York even sits at the heart of a comics county now: Thought Bubble, the biggest comic art festival in the country, runs its convention just up the road in Harrogate every November.

The city holds up its end day to day as well, with a long-standing comic shop among the old streets and York's own comic cons out at the racecourse. For a city whose Shambles is popularly said to have inspired Diagon Alley, none of this feels like a coincidence.

A city that has always known what things are worth

York has been a trading city since the Romans founded it in AD 71, and the Merchant Adventurers have been doing deals in the same hall since 1357. I like doing business here for exactly that reason: York people tend to know that the right way to sell something valuable is to get a proper price from someone who understands it, not to let it go blind. Collections built over decades are sitting behind those medieval walls and out across the suburbs, and if one of them is yours, I would genuinely love a look.

Why sell to Retro Relics Comics?

Most ways of selling comics in York mean a shop offering a fraction of value, or a buyback site that cannot tell a key issue from a reprint. Retro Relics is different: every offer comes from live Whatnot and eBay sold data, so you get a genuine current price, not a lowball guess.

You also deal directly with Lee, a real collector from just up the road, rather than a faceless buying team. An easy North Yorkshire trip for me, an honest number for you, and your comics treated with the respect they deserve.

"Amazing process from start to finish... prices he paid were better than anyone else I'd spoke to." - Damian Abel
