Most valuation pages online exist to make you feel like you are sitting on a fortune. These do not. Some of the comics below are worth serious money in almost any condition. Others are among the most commonly owned comics in Britain and worth very little, and saying so is more useful to you than pretending otherwise.
Each page covers what the comic is, why it does or does not carry value, and the specific traps that catch people out on that particular issue, because they are different every time.

Three things that decide value on almost any comic
Scarcity, not age. A 1993 comic printed in millions is worth less than a 1975 comic printed in thousands, and being old on its own has never made anything valuable.
The printing. First printings carry the value. Later printings of the same issue routinely sell for a tenth or less, and the indicia settles which you have in about ten seconds.
Condition, more than you think. The difference between a read copy and a sharp one is usually multiples, not percentages. See our grading guide for where certification starts paying for itself.
