Chester-le-Street sits on a Roman fort, Concangis, on the road up to Hadrew's Wall, though most people know it today as a commuter town between Durham and Gateshead and the home of Durham County Cricket Club. Mining paid the bills here for two centuries, and when the pits shut the terraces and estates stayed, filled with exactly the kind of family that kept a shed full of comics nobody got round to sorting.

Close enough to Durham and Gateshead that a Chester-le-Street collection is easy to fit into the same trip.

Why sell to me rather than a general dealer

Most house clearance firms and general second hand dealers price comics by the box, because they have no way to tell a valuable issue from a common one. That is fine for them and expensive for you. I read these, I sell them, and I know the difference between a first printing and a reprint, and between a newsstand copy and a direct edition.
