Sell your comics
in Saltburn-by-the-Sea.

Free valuations, honest prices and free collection. I am a working collector based on Teesside, not a chain, and I will tell you what your comics are actually worth even when the answer is not much.

Right on my doorstep

Saltburn is the far end of my usual run, a Victorian resort built almost overnight in the 1860s by the Quaker Pease family, complete with a cliff lift and a pier that has survived a shipwreck, two world wars and a fair few North Sea storms. Streets named after jewels, a town that was planned rather than grew, and plenty of Victorian and Edwardian terraces where a collection has had decades to sit in an attic.

It is a proper trip out from Middlesbrough rather than round the corner, but well within a day, so I still collect in person for anything worth the drive.

How it works in Saltburn-by-the-Sea

  1. Send photos. Covers and spines are enough to start. If it is a full collection, a photo of each box and a few close-ups of anything you think might matter.
  2. I go through them properly. You get an itemised view rather than one number for everything, so you can see which comics carry the value and which do not.
  3. You decide. No pressure, no obligation, and no hard feelings if you would rather sell elsewhere or keep them.
  4. I collect and pay. Free collection, and payment on the day rather than when something eventually sells.

What I am looking for in Saltburn-by-the-Sea

Marvel and DC from the 1960s through to the 1990s, key first appearances, complete runs, independent titles and horror. I will also take the ordinary boxes alongside the good stuff, because leaving somebody with four boxes of comics nobody wants is not much of a service.

Not sure whether yours are the ones that matter? The comic values section goes through the most commonly asked about issues, honestly.

Why sell to me rather than a general dealer

Most house clearance firms and general second hand dealers price comics by the box, because they have no way to tell a valuable issue from a common one. That is fine for them and expensive for you. I read these, I sell them, and I know the difference between a first printing and a reprint, and between a newsstand copy and a direct edition.
